peronaly i really dont care how many kids they crank out.. It doesnt affect me one bit. But what I find ironic thatif they love children so much.. why not adopt if all children came from god or are gods blessing.?

Why dont they adopt? Silly! THey have 19 kids!

If we follow that logic than ALL of us with children should adopt a child. Why single out the Duggers?

The Duggars seem to be very nice people and whether or not they have a zillion kids is none of my business since they support themselves without public assistance. This doesn't mean I agree with it or that I think it's morally correct in todays society. I must admit I'm not comfortable with the mothers statement that she will have as many babies as God gives her. God allows us choices whether they be right or wrong and just because a person CAN have babies doesn't mean she SHOULD have baby after baby after baby. But, again, it's her choice. I could have as many chickens as God would allow me money to buy but that doesn't mean I should!!!

What they do is their business, all I can say is that Michelle Duggar is my age, 42, and I can not imagine being pregnant with baby #19!

Wonder how many "J" names are left in the baby books... maybe they're trying to use them all up?

Well as a mom of eight I have found some of the replies a little slated.... If you could think of those children as chickens and many of the replies one could place chickens instead of children. OH they have way to many" chickens" and should think about using a little control. Oh my what a huge number of "chickens". OH I cannot believe anyone should pop out that many "chickens" think of the carbon footprint they are leaving. They do have to buy food and it comes in a bag which used a tree to make the paper ... or the plastic is terrible for the environment.
with that said my sister thinks i AM CRAZY not for having children but for having chickens even one is too many for her. So if we remember we all have life choices to make and they are ours alone to make the world could be a better place.
Another thought was about this statement, "Here I am doing all I can to reduce the size of our family's carbon footprint and these people are increasing theirs exponentially". They shop at the thrift store for tons of things.... how many of who have just a few children do that? Average numbers? I would venture to say that those who have few children leave a big carbon footprint... I say that because even though I have EIGHT yes 8 children , we grow our veggies as organic as I can sometimes I feed more bugs than I would like because we live near a spring and a creek I DO NOT want to hurt the water system. Yet I have friends lot of them or acquaintance who shop at the mall a good deal, grow things and use chemicals and do not care one bit about the environment or the impact their families will have. I have taught my 8 children it is each of ours responsibility to take care of where we live and do our part. Heck my nieces and nephews would rather grab something out to eat or nuke something for dinner (meaning it came in a package which will now be in a landfill later) and they only have a few kids. As so many other families I know. So don't just the footprint unless you know shopping habits and lifestyle habits ...they are at least shopping at the thrift stores, usually those who will do that will find other ways to help mother nature out. ................and the tax thing or rebates for so many kids .... please let a tax expert answer that one because I sure would have like to know how to claim all 8 of mine on one tax year.

I haven't read all the posts... Has anyone mentioned the Quiver Full Movement? That is the idea that Christians need to reproduce full-throttle to balance out the number of "heathens" in the world. I am uncomfortable with using babymaking as a weapon in an ideological war.
