One of my boys crowed for the first time this morning.Very nice melody but hes got some bass.I'm afraid that he and the other"sexed pullet "roo are going to be finding new homes very soon.Hes just too loud for a neighborhood with houses this close. Its a shame too because they are both really nice good looking guys.
Maybe one day I'll get out in the sticks where I belong so I can keep some fellas.
Lol!! Probably was the same one.How old are your fellas? I only bought 2 EE's from the feed store and out of the entire bin of EE chicks which must have had at least 50 or more chicks I got 2 roosI totally feel your frustration! Our " sexed" pullets must have come from the same hatchery.
Quote: That is so frustrating!!! I would be totally stoked about that!! Hope that you find good homes for the roos!
My guy is 12 weeks old. When I got him, I also got 2 cochins, a silkie and a bantam mystery chick, all "unsexed". Out of those 4, the mystery chick is the only one that turned out to be a boy, he is a silver sebright and is hopefully going to a petting zoo this weekend. It breaks my heart to have to get rid of my EE, "TurkeyButt". He is so sweet and I know he will be so beautiful. I really want to see if I can get him to mate with some of my hens before I rehome him.Lol!! Probably was the same one.How old are your fellas? I only bought 2 EE's from the feed store and out of the entire bin of EE chicks which must have had at least 50 or more chicks I got 2 roos. So disappointed. No colored eggs for me this year. And to top it off I have to give them away after all the hard work me and the kids put into raising them, taming them and integrating them.I really like them too. They are good boys.
I thought about buying older pullets but I just don't think I have the energy to do anything else this year.Maybe I'll try again next year.![]()

Someone was asking about feather color and parent to offspring combos. I have a guild I found a few years ago. It works well just takes a little getting use to the format. http://kippenjungle.nl/Overzicht.htm I hope this helps. Decoding the chicken color/pattern can get very involved. This tool helps to figure out your game plan.![]()
