The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: ^I forgot to quote this in my post and I wanted to acknowledge I saw it but I didn't want to make two posts.

I waited until this part of my post to say it: This morning Malcolm got carried off by a predator, probably a fisher. She's gone.
If you're curious, I wrote what happened on my facebook page The Chickensphere; I don't really want to summarize it here. Beware, though, it's long.
The irony...

But we do still have Stevie the white easter egger. She and Kirk might make some pretty cool chicks.
Oh no - I am so sorry to hear this!

That comb is, um, very interesting. Wow.

Looks like a single comb with sprigs to me. I don't see rose or pea there.

The genetics behind a single comb is a combination of recessive pea and rose combs.

A really great , basic comb genetics thread, does not discuss modifiers though.
If anyone knows of a discussion on comb modifiers please share :)

Oh, you're talking genotype while I meant phenotype. I just am not seeing anything unusual about it other than multiple sprigs. I know those are undesirable in single-combed breeds but not what specifically causes them.

I love the unusual and I think it is a unique dashing swash-buckling comb!
