The EE braggers thread!!!

I think I'd try the polish roo...1) white eggs plus blue eggs equal more blue (or at least not green when you mix brown with blue)
2) polish crest plus EE beard equals cute (is your polish bearded or non-bearded?)
I think I've seen some photos on the polish threads or maybe I've seen polishxEE on the EE threads. Sorry, not much help.

Of course, since you have three roo options, you might want to give each roo a chance with the EE hens and see what the results are.

I'm glad the blue eggs will come thru! And I'm not sure about the beard yet. There's one polish chick that doesn't have a beard and I have no idea which one of the four is the roo yet. I hope the roo has a beard tho, because I'm really wanting to get some chicks that have the beard and the crest! I think I'll definitely try all the roos with the EE's! They are so colorful already it certainly can't hurt to add more color! Maybe I'd get some polka dot EE's with the hamburg roo! How does leg color work? The greenish ee legs with the blue/slate legs of the polish and hamburg?
I found a thread about polish and ee crosses! I posted on there hoping for some more insight! Thanks for the help!

Here's new ones of my Eleanor. She's almost 3 months, starting to look like a grown up. I'm loving the way her feathers are coming in, nice big full tail feathers and such a pretty patterm. She had a crop issue this month and I fed her some crumbles coated in olive oil and she got it all over her face and since then her cheek puffs haven't been as fluffy as they were.

I was gone for a week unplugged in the Smoky Mt. I came back to a surprise hatch. I guess I miss counted them by a week or the kids moved my hatch day sticker! So I went out to feed the broody and heard peeps. She hatched 9 of 12 but sometime in the night 1 didn't make it. I'm thinking it got stepped on. It was the smallest and last one hatched. They where all dry and fluffy last night. But 8 out of 12 is still not bad with all this rain we are having. I still hate to see them perish. It was a yellow and brown chick hatched from a mint green egg.

or at least mutton chops lol

I got a 1.6 oz. egg yesterday... 19 weeks, 6 days... Pretty much the exact color of a robin's egg. I didn't see which one it was but I am guessing Agnes because she's been squatting up a storm although Mabel's face is just as red.

I'm relatively new at the chicken thing and I think I have a wanna be broody EE bantam. She started laying about 4 weeks ago. Today is her 24 week bday. She has been in one of our nest boxes most of the last two days. I would love some babies! The eggs probably are fertile as we have roosters. Is she too young? How should I approach this?
