The EE braggers thread!!!

This EE had a crusty nose, like it was running, what should I do? I don't want to spread to my other chickens. Is it contagious?



It's head is a little wet in these pics.

Try posting on the disease thread . My first guess is fowl pox . Spread by mosquitoes . In Illinois I usually see it in July or August . Myself I would destroy it . Safer for the rest of your flock . My second guess would be coryiza . Spelling is probably off . That will give you a start on your search .

So cull the flock that chicken was in.
 
No just that chicken .

I'm not meaning to bug you, or hijack the thread, but of the 5 chickens that were together 4 are acting I'll. we just got back from a trip today and they were acting week like they were dehydrated, well they were dehydrated. Could that be it?

Yes that could be it . Make sure before culling any chickens . I cull for diseases . Recovered birds are often carriers for life .You may not have a disease there .
