The EE braggers thread!!!

I have five EEs and two OEs that were last years pullets, there was a sixth but it turned out to be a rooster. I love my EEs I had problems with dogs killing my birds for years but after moving I got lucky and haven't lost any! It makes me so happy to see a bunch of blue eggs when I go out there and collect.

I also have a question for anyone who can answer

What color eggs would you get from crossing a blue or blue-green laying hens with Orpington roosters who I'm pretty sure their sisters lay light brown eggs? How about olive laying hens?
I'll be hatching chicks soon and I'm trying to get some color ideas.

Thanks!
The lighter the brown the lighter green you will get ..

Here are some better pictures of my EEs!

we have some time before they mate... I have 13 more hens waiting to go into the coop, although I have a feeling I'm going to be making a little bachelors coop or selling a coupe of roos... From what it looks like we have 4 maybe 5...

I love EE!!

They are the one "breed/non breed" we can play with and add what we want to the mix and not have SOP purest looking down their noses at us. All these pictures have made me decide to throw a bunch of EE eggs in the incubator, using Jerry's shotgun method and see what comes out the other end!

Thanks EE'ers for motivating me.

Here's my new boy. I'm new to rooster world. What do y'all think of him?? I have 2 red sexlinks and 1 black austrslorp hen. What kinds babies will they make?? And egg color??
He appears to be lavender in color . Lavender is a recessive dilution of black . So it takes 2 copies to dilute black to lavender . Your chicks will be mostly black . Eggs will be greenish if he has 2 genes for blue eggs . If not you may get some brown eggs .
