The EE braggers thread!!!

I've never seen them give out any flowers, but i know the ones youre talking about tho the ones with the big colorful flowers right?, my grand ma used to have those we would eat the fruit they are delicious. and yeah we also eat the leaves they are soooo good that how my family eats them, but this year that we started with chickens and ducks they always beat us to them ans thats why we fenced it.
Well the Salton Sea is like 2 miles away from me and sucks because we have this nice beautiful lake but we can't do anything on it cuz its contaminated.
Hey so you and I have almost the same temperatures during the summer right? How do your chickens do during the summer?

In that last picture, thats an RIR rooster, right? Is he a production or a hertitage?

He actually hatched out of Some Black Copper Maran eggs, I got those eggs from eBay, the guy said they were pure BCM but I guess he was lying or maybe his birds are poor quality Marans, Regardless I love my roos ter he is beautiful and big and hes gonna be main rooster for a couple of years.

hes just a little overly melanized, no big deal. and it looks like clean shanks. but i would not suspect hes a mutt, just perhaps an ebay-hobby-farmer-egg-seller, but a beauty of a rooster nonetheless, right?

Your top hen is very pretty!

Thank you. Yeah when they first started to feather out to me she was the least beautiful one but now that there fully feathered out she is the prettiest.

crash0330 for summer, I make sure that the birds have some shade plus a bucket of water to take foot baths. Just walking in the water keeps them cool enough. Sometimes when it is 112 if I remember to wet the ground that also helps but frankly I do not like to do that often. Wetness = bad odor. I prefer that they just take dry dust baths. I have a variety of birds, I prefer pea comb and clean legged but I just acquired a Showgirl Pair who have claimed my favorite position for pets.

All of my cacti flower except the paper whites but they are young. My neighbor has some which do flower. I am originally a woodland foliage person but love it here in the desert just as much and am always amazed at the foliage and the ability to create little microclimates here with use of shade and enough localized watering. This post may belong elsewhere maybe the Southern CA.

So I have one EE hen that I hatched from a EE rooster over a red star hen. She is very sweet and lays a wonderful large dark colored sage with a golden glow everyday. Her first eggs at six months of age were darker but who cares she she is very prolific. So in the future, I would consider using production hens under a pea combed slate legged male.

Thank you guys!

Someone on another thread said he was golden duckwing with white leaking through that made it look like spangling on his breast. I'll have to ask the woman who has the other two if they have the tufts and are rumpless. He came from Townline Hatchery near Grand Rapids, MI which supplies all the Michigan TSCs with chicks. When I grabbed 3 chicks, one of them was a little silver chipmunk in color which was this guy. The other was chipmunk and the other was fuzzy yellow--who grew up to be an off-white color although they were rehomed before I could tell about rump or tufts.

Here's a link to a thread about him, since I want to breed him to my hybrid layers to see what that would create. Closed because some people got upset about the word mutt.

heres my rooster who also has dominant white that makes it apear mottled:
