The EE braggers thread!!!

the hens were tail less and a brown quail colored. Small hens.
I have some turkin eggs coming from the feed store owner in a week. He only has a trio so it will take him a few days to make my dozen. At only $12. a dozen.
I swore I wouldn't hatch any chicks until spring/ I turned all my breeds together too let them free range. BCM, and my EEs cuckoo marans. I may gather the blue and green eggs to hatch.

2 of our feed stores have chickens JS west and rochas feed
PS I love the Shamos wish I had more space I bid on them. Maybe when I move to New Mexico I'll get some if she still has them..

Well, maybe both my hen and rooster ARE araucana-----I googled pictures, and they do have tails, just short ones----like mine, and they are bearded, also like mine. Hmmmmm...........................

It doesn't matter, just curious. I will be breeding them and selling their offspring as EEs.

Araucanas do not have beards, what you're seeing are Araucanas from other countries. Other countries do not have Ameraucanas, so Araucanas there are allowed tails and beards/

Here, Araucanas do NOT have beards and rarely ever have tails.

He is handsome but it is a funny shot because it looks as if his comb has the addition of grey down feather which must belong to another bird, right ?

I remember the first time I saw an Araucana from Australia - I was very, very confused! It's so much fun having an international forum like this one, but every once in awhile, it gets complicated, especially when I forget to look at the place of origin on a bird.

WOW that is awful ! What happens to the comb after the freezing season is over. Obviously it is dead tissue, does it stay on or sluff off ?
