The EE braggers thread!!!

But just think about it if I have white EE she is white which is a recognized color so she does have a recognized color.

How can they have a recognized color if they are not a recognized breed? Do see what I am getting at here?

White is a recognized color in many breeds, no EEs are not recognized by the APA but the color white is.

To try and clear up any misinformation about the origins of the Ameraucana, I've seen it commented on over the past several pages on this thread, you can read up on their history by visiting the Ameraucana Breeder's Club History Page.

You can also read an article on the origins of the Ameraucana written by John Blehm for Backyard Poultry magazine.

I have a rooster that so looks like yours. Isn't he rumpless as in Araucana? Mine has no tail feathers to speak of either, and I think is because the hens chase him around pecking at them constantly. Pictures I seen he looks like a those of pure Araucana roosters I've seen. I was just given mine and the lady said he came from a private breeder, not a hatchery, and that he was a pure bred.

He is not an Araucana. Just because he is rumpless does not mean he is one.

Maxx, I think the way you say things is the reason people get offended and like to argue with you. She said "isn't he rumpless as in araucana" not he is a pure araucana.

Wild trapper never posted pics of her rooster, no one can say what he is or is not.

Jennifer posted pics of her roo and clearly stated his tail feathers were missing, not that he was rumpless.

His tail feathers are missing, I can see his pink butt and the hens pick at him. He's such a big baby.
He came from a hatchery that labeled him as "Ameraucana".
He was gonna be sold as a meat bird but he escaped out of the box he was in. He got along with the hens that we let roam the yard so we decided to keep him.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start anything. I already got ran off from the Ameraucana board.

Yeah there are some really weird folks that even have to try to correct peoples spelling. Missing the whole idea of sharing knowledge and enjoying the forum. I do like your rooster, and only meant that my roo is colored like yours and looks a lot like him with his tail pecked out. Rather mine is pure or not I really don't care, he is supposed to carry the blue egg gene and that is why I excepted him as a gift. Also I'm sorry to hear you got run off from that other bunch.

To everyone else, WT is not a she. I'm a 64 year old guy, thank you very much. I'm here for the fun and sharing. Anyone tries to pick a fight with anything I say or write on here can consider themselves ignored. I'm too old for your opinion to matter to me. Y'all have a nice day and try real hard to get over yourself. WT

Thank you Jeremy! I was trying to get into that page last night but it was down for some reason. No I'm not going to gloat. I actually think it is wonderful that you all feel so passionate about your chickens, even the mutt chickens, that you would argue your beliefs so fervently! It's a wonderful thing to feel so passionate about your interests and this is one of the things that makes BYC such a fun forum to hang out on. Besides I've been wrong in the past and I know what it feels like.

Love all the great pictures everyone has been showing! I think our lively discussion prompted more pics to be posted and that is an added benefit! I love, love, love to see all your beautiful birds! Keep being passionate about what you love folks! And thank you BYC for giving us all a place to discuss, debate, learn and gawk about all things related to chickens! I promise to post pictures of all my baby chicks (mostly EEs) when they hatch in about 6 days!

I had 4 EE chicks to hatch this past weekend, I know cause they came out of blue eggs. The others could possibly be EE also. 20 eggs total hatched.

I love the little ones that look like chipmunks. SO ADORABLE.
