The EE braggers thread!!!

well I'll take a guess; the first ones head and comb look like a girl but it sure has thick leggs - I'm gonna guess . . . girl.
The second looks like a boy comb and boy head . . . Boy!

I was thinking somewhat the same.. The first one does have thicker legs, but i did compare his/her legs to one of the for sure females and they are about the same in thickness. The second one i thought was for sure a girl untill just recently... all of the sudden this little one has been getting a pretty big red comb and his neck feathers are pointy.

Hi everybody!

I got some "true blue Ameraucana" eggs from an eBay seller as replacements for some broken eggs in a previous transaction. Only two hatched and one is a yellow chick with yellow legs so I promised her/him to a neighbor girl. The other one hatched out pure black with slate legs. That was four weeks ago. Here is how it looks today. I think it has beautiful coloring and I am so hoping it is a pullet. Anyone care to guess? I assume it is probably an EE as well, right? Edited to add a better pic of comb and face. Thanks! Mary

They can be hard to sex, and four weeks is early but if the comb stays flat and not pink...here's crossing my fingers for you for pullet.
It doesnt look like she(power of positive thinking) has a beard and probably no muffs, so yes to EE.
She looks like she is going to be pretty.

I agree, yes to EE and yes to pullett. she has a pretty head shape.
I get such a kick out of all the color changes EE's go through before they get to their final color.

KatyTheChickenLady, Thank you for the fertile eggs!!!!! They made it to our house safe and sound and are sitting on the kitchen table resting up after their long journey. I can't wait to set them tomorrow!!! Lovely colors - I am simply gazing upon them there on my table. Sigh. And for just the price of shipping; they are a killer bargain. I'll be posting pictures of cute little fuzzy EE in a few weeks. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thanks to your girls for the beautiful eggs and thanks to Bob for working so hard at making sure they are fertile.

YOUR WELCOME:D
Thanks for posting that! Bob is soooo proud that his were my first shipped eggs! algopurples are going out on Monday . . . I can only ship a dozen a week free share eggs but after her there is no one in line . . . anyone else want EE eggs?

Hey Katy,

All the EE eggs you sent over are developing! Whoo hoo!

They are going to be some pretty chicks! I can't wait for them to grow up and lay--I am going to reserve a few of the best color eggs and breed them to my Marans and get some nice Olive Eggs from them. It will be a fun project.
