The EE braggers thread!!!

So I'll spare the long story and drama that goes with this particular bird but I sold him/her as part of a quad a few months ago. The owner called me and said she no longer wanted him as he started crowing, which he has yet to do. He's a hennyroo at this point. Some things scream male others scream female. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. He/she came home yesterday and I'm really of glad. I'll have to get some better pics but just wanted to share one from my phone.

He's a product of a black Ameraucana roo over a BCM hen. I'll be really happy if he is a roo as I have some Marans hens that should make gorgeous Olive Egger offspring with him. He's got the pea comb and so is carrying the blue gene if I'm correct. Has black muffs and beard and coppering with feather shanks. Anyway.....

I wasn't saying a pea comb isn't normal, I was saying it is on an supposed pure Orpington

I have 4 EEs

I had posted this in the Orp thread without much luck, and I suddenly thought to put it on here the other day.

I agree with Draye, looks male to me also, but see why he could be mistaken for a female at this point. Ameraucanas are supposed
to be pure [homozygous] for blue eggs abd pea combs......................... though occassionally aren't........................ so he should be heterozygous for both traits and be the type that the OE breeders cross back to Marans and then keep only the pea combed chicks, most of which would then lay a very dark olive egg [providing the Marans lay dark eggs .

Ha yeah he's a roo. No question about it which I'm psyched about! I can't wait to make some Olive's with this guy. AND he's super sweet ta boot!

I could have guessed what you meant but it was sooooooooo tempting to make a little fun. Hope that you do know that it was just a tongue in cheek remark ? Another guess is that "they" do not want anything different on the Orpington thread. I had one of those once, boy was she hugh. I can see why orps are the perfect mothers. So much space for their chicks to hide and keep warm.

I have a Blue Copper who's pretty but her color is lacking and a wheaten who's egg color is

Also have a number of BCM pullets who aren't laying yet and more chicks that are in the bators up stairs. The next few years should be a ton of fun. Can't wait until next year when I can post some pics of his offsprings and further generations eggs!

I am about to adopt a lovely looking pure white ameraucan rooster from a city person who can not keep males. I am looking foward to having a NICE rooster for a change. So far I have had one EE and two Brabanters that were maniac attackers. White is not my choice but I am looking for calm and never crazy. Hope that this rooster works out for some interesting EEs.

There is a song from the fifties........"If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, get an ugly woman to marry you!"
