Littlechicklet, those are lovely chickes.
Bleenie, that pale gold lacing has been showing up a lot lately. I wonder if it's something new???
And the puffy cheeks![]()
(Thanks for the pink egg link, Ron!)![]()
Your roo is beautiful! Does look a lot like my Ethel as a baby. It's so amazing how similar these chicks can look and how DIFFERENT they can be as adults. So cool!so cute! I have one, like the one in the back. turned out to be a roo, but he's awesome, here he is
here he is only 2 days old, I have to find my other memory card, it has all the baby pics...
this is him now
he's very interesting personality wise, he's 13 weeks tomorrow, so far so good, he likes me,
I'm the treat dispenser![]()
I'm having so much fun so far. We're getting started on the "hen house" within the next couple of days. My husband and I are going to build a small one. I'll take weekly pics of the chicks to post their progress. So far, their legs have stayed yellow. Maybe they'll change colors. It's so neat to watch them grow and absolutely amazing to see how similar some chicks look and how totally different they appear when grown up. Different colors, feather patterns, sizes. The kids are enjoying playing with them, but I think I enjoy them more. I can't wait to get home from work and take them out to play in the front yard. Guarding them from the cats is quite a task, but they treat me like mama hen, which is really neat. Oh, and the best part about watching them, is seeing their tiny little legs do that cover/kick thing in the dirt. Looks like the little cuties are dancin'! I'm hoping for some nice green eggs in the future.OMG, Shell1981. You are going to have so much fun raising chickens! The funnest part of raising chicks is to see what they turn out looking like! (And of course, getting those eggs! You know that EE have blue/green or pinkish eggs!) I do notice your chicks have yellow legs....or are they turning blue/slate colored? All my EE have slate colored legs. You can never tell what color they will be! You can get two chicks that look identical, and they will grown up really different! Have fun with them. Before you know it, you will have more, I bet! Nobody can have just 2!
