The EE braggers thread!!!

Congratulations! Where are you going to be ordering from? How many do you get?
I've been looking into people close to me that have them but if all else fails, I'm gonna order from McMurrary Hatchery. I'm allowed 15 (mainly cuz I'm getting some Frizzle Cochin Bantams too

) Would love to get my EEs from local farms but we'll see what I can find.

Have fun with them.

I have ordered their "Ameraucana's" Easter Eggers before, I didn't care for them. They had too many with yellow legs.

I got my "Ameraucana" Easter Eggers from an Orscheln Farm and Home store, which sources from Estes Hatchery. No reason you couldn't order direct through them.

You can see from mine that there's a good variety of colors, nice beards, most of mine have the slate legs, only Saffron has the green "willow" colored legs, and they lay a variety of 55-70gram eggs in colors, ranging from blue to olive.

I've been really happy with my Estes EEs.

I ordered from Ideal, the Ams/EE were for some one else. They were all healthy but not much variety. The owners were happy though because they were good at production.

I have heard that Mt. Healthy Has some awesome EE's. Bigger in size and they are suppose to lay well also. Now remember I just heard.

Just out of curiosity.....how big is the average EE? I know they are crosses so it probably varies quite a bit but my EE's are currently double the size of my slow growing brahma chicks and a bit larger than the production red's. Do they just grow fast and then stop? B/c if they keep this up they will be some nice sized birds.

Depends on the cross really.
Most I've had get to about 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 lbs on hens, an average of 5 lbs.

Rossters are a pound or so heavier.
