The EE braggers thread!!!

Just wanted to share a couple pictures. my mother has been raising these ones for me and they just came home today. They are Olives mixed with Wyandotte(much higher percentage). Their mommas lay colored eggs so I am hoping these girls might too, have a couple months longer until i know for sure though!

Ok, so I absolutely love your eggs. This is my goal....to have eggs like yours!!!! Please tell me what breed chickens you have!!! Right now I have white, brown, green and coming soon is terra cotta, and hopefully blue and I just hatched an Isbar for mossy green and some turkens for large greenish/blue eggs. What breed gave you the egg third from the bottom on the left?
Aww thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. My Stepdad has cancer and is in the hospital. I haven't been online much.

Ok... breeds..

The rooster was an Ameraucana. Not sure what colour tho. I'm also not sure if he's a purebred, but he was sold as one...

All the moms of the chickens who laid these eggs were purebred, they were inherited from a lady who kind of "collected" breeds LOL. My friend and I have tried to figure out what they all are, as we are pretty new to chickening LOL! These are our guesses.

Dark Brahma
Light Brahma
Blue Cochin
Black Australorp
Ameraucana (Her eggs didn't hatch, I think she was too old)
Maybe an Orpington

Third from the bottom on the left is one of the few I don't know who laid. Also the one underneath it, which is spotted purple. It's hard to tell in the picture. I can only tell you it's NOT from the brahmas, the australorp or the ameraucana hens.

There are 12 in all, and we still have to figure some out. Here are some of the original moms. If you spot one you know, sing out!

Ameraucana (cross?) Moulting.. poor guy

White OEGB roo, if he managed to fertilize any eggs, it will make my year. he's such an amazingly friendly nutcase.

Teenage kid on the far left Dark Brahma (?) on the near left

Teenage kids

The one and only original green egg layer Ameraucana mom in the middle with the teenagers

So these ones are second generation. Except for Mish, Their moms are above and they have mated with their half brother as well as Mish, a brown leghorn/ISA brown cross.

This is Olive, she laid my avatar LOL!

The Ameraucana cross photobombing is now in the freezer :(
His mom was the dark brahma (we think)
The one in the foreground (pumpkin) lays a very nice orange/peach egg

Pumpkin from another angle (she was a feather picker, so now she wears pinless peepers)

This is a picture of Mish when he was a baby(ish)

I know that's not particularly helpful for you, but it was fun for me LOLOL!

The hen in the 3rd pic down to the right of the OEGB looks like a Barred Rock and so do some of your teen's.

OK what I see and what I guess Picture 1 Americana 2. pretty EE roosters 3 Your little cute boy and BR 4 Silver penciled Wyandotte or Rock cross.. 5 EE and BR 6 Starting at the top of the picture I see, 2 BR's EE a Speckled Sussex I think or an Ancona can't see the comb good if its a huge comb its the later, and I think either a Lavender Opington or cochin, an EE & another BR, and I can't see who's hiding under the saw horse, maybe a red sexlink? but can't really tell LOL 7 EE cross columbian Delaware? does it have feathered feet? could then be an EE cross to a brahma. 8 EE Crooss maybe to a welsummer does she lay an olive egg? if so that would be my guess... 9 same hen as pic. 8? welsummer cross and a black astrolorp 10 Cute little roo's and EE and your little guy OEGB?

We brought home 5 Ameraucana chicks from the feed store on tuesday! We wanted to get some last year, but started late in the season and couldn't find any in our area. They were listed as Ameraucanas but due to the variety of chicks in the tub, I am pretty sure they will all be EE's. This is absolutely fine by us, we just wanted a more colorful egg basket and pretty chickens to look at. We also bought some cuckoo marans, and dominiques. It's amazing how much bigger the EE chicks are than the others. So far, they are really thriving. I can't wait until they feather out and we can tell what they are going to look like. I will try to post some pictures later. Is there anything cuter than an EE chick? I don't think so!

I don't think you will get any eggs from that top one. Looks like a cockerel.
