welcome ChickNmama what part of the gold country you from? I live in Placerville.Well, I have FINALLY finished reading all the way through this thread, and now I can post my EE birdies. Of course, like most people here, when I bought them I thought they were Americaunas (notice the i).. but have since learned the ones from the feed store really don't have a breed name so they are called EEs. I don't name the EEs.. but they do have distinct personalities and they lay nice blue-green eggs.
Enjoying the grass
Digging up the raised beds with some Silver Laced Wyandottes
I love their patterns
My EE Roo - clean faced - drat!
Saying hello to the Blue Laced Red Wyandotte cross beak and retarded rooster - he's in there to prevent him from adding to the gene pool. I will probably have to eat him. He still peeped like a chick when he was 4 months old.. only started crowing last month at almost 8 months old!
This is my darkest girl, she has a lovely green sheen on her neck feathers at the right angle
I have 10 EE hens (4 very old and 6 new). The old ones are about 7 years, the new ones are from last April. I love the eggs I am getting from them.

OMG too cute!Blue feet, yellow feet, green feet too,
sittin' on the branches like chickens do.
Two little Easter Eggers, Wyandotte too,
Looks like one may have stepped in poo.
Welcome to BYC. There are loads of loyal EE fans here and it's nice to meet another. Your rooster is very handsome even without a comb. As Cooper mentioned, your local thread is a great place to meet folks near you. Thank you she is an awesome chicken, and so far my only one to go broody.I live between Jackson and Pine Grove off of Highway 88. I will go over and read that thread now - I sure hope it has fewer pages....
OH MAN - its WORSE!
Well - I have decided this time I am going to start at the end and go backwards - that thread started in 2007!
Thanks. It took me three weeks to read it, but I learned a lot.![]()
My birds have always come from feed stores and McMurray. I love the colors of the EEs some people have. That Skyfire is amazing!![]()
The two feed store ones I got this time have clean faces (1 hen, 1 roo from Privet Hatchery). The McMurray EEs have great fuzzy faces but were mostly gold/black with the exception of one with blue feathers in her tail and the black necked one. They all are laying on the blue side of blue green eggs. I would have really liked to have gotten some EEs with the silver wild-type coloring - or those beautiful black and white ones that I have seen some people posting on here.
I really like some of the mixes people have made too...![]()
I will probably have some roosters with a fuzzy faces coming next year - because I ordered some Ameraucanas from John Blehm. All the well behaved extra boys will go in with the EE/Wyandotte pen.... I may need more hens....![]()

What do you have covering your wire?
