This is Apollo. He is an Easter Egger. He is 10 weeks old. I am pretty sure he is a rooster. What do you think?

I think you are right. The red boys always were hardest for me to tell at an early age, but that one has his tail and saddle feathers going already. He will be a pretty boy!

Is Hazel a boy? I was looking at her saddle feathers this morning and was having doubts.... I know I've asked this before, but I'm just making sure. I can have roosters, but I wasn't really wanting one. But, if one of my chicks is a rooster I am definitely keeping it. She is two months old? I got her and her 'twin' Pippy March 27.

That is still girl coloring, I have never seen a boy with those colors. I would be very surprised if it doesn't give you an egg.. Hens will have "saddle feathers" but they are not pointed. If you want to see - take just one and put it over your hand or a piece of paper. Female feathers are rounded at the end, males are very pointed.

I have nine week olds who are looking gorgeous. It will be hard to select my keepers.
