Thank you!

I'm thinking female. I'm fairly certain she won't have a pattern much like this as an adult, although she should be the same colors. As for a name, I suggest Portia, Misty, or Stella.

I like Stella! What do you mean she won't look this way? When will these feathers shed if she will look different at her first molt?

Anyone else had a chick look like her?

It's baby camo. The first molt happens shortly after they finish feathering. I haven't had one that looked exactly like that but my gold-headed chick with the fine striping all over her back is going penciled in her teens so maybe you'll get a silver penciled female out of this one. No promises, though. Baby camo can be very different than adult plumage.

I agree, also after the first adult molt, they can change their color. I had a pretty blue hen EE. On her first major fall molt she came back looking like a different bird dark grey/black patchy ugly camo pattern. Mrs' Clause had a huge white beard looked like Santa. After her second molt her beard is now black and not as thick! I have one when the feathers grew back she had a swirl of feathers on both sides of her neck looking like a she belonged on Charlie's Angels LOL. EE's do some strange things while molting. Most just come back looking the same with pretty shiny new feathers. Then there's Blue the once pretty soft blue with gold tones turned into a very camouflaged chicken. I am not sure if weather or surroundings has any bearing on it. But is does make you wonder. Now when she is in the thick undergrowth she is hard to see. She is 3 now and has never gone broody so it's not to hide her eggs.

Here are my 5 week old babies. The first 3 were hatchery sexed, but I'm pretty sure I have 2 Roos! What do ya'll think??

Pullet?

Roo!?

Roo?

Unsure on the next 2, they are twins...

Totally adorable...reminds me of my JamJam....the light one with the "eye makeup'
