The EE braggers thread!!!

I see on the araucana thread that they are going to try and get the clean face birds into the standard as American rumples. So now the Ameraucana will not be the only breed where you can get two breeds from one mating. Ameraucana and the culls are EE. Araucana and American rumples. This should confuse a few. Also EE produce sweet potato Quechura types. Also the American rumples looks a lot like coloncas . My what was I thinking.

Well they can add as many uptight threads as they like, we still have our friendly group here.

Here are my new girls. They don't have beards or muff but they are still pretty! I am hoping that by breeding to my new roo we can get more muff and beards on the offspring.

Anyone notice anything odd about these eggs? Yep... The one on the bottom is as flat as can be on one side. Both come from my EE Strawberry. She consistently lays 70 gram eggs.

Dies anyone have a chart of egg size by weight?

It's been a long time since I have had time to check out the forums and post anything, but yes, I love my EE's. As soon as the kiddos get to bed and I go out to do my last check of birds and night time lock down, I will come back and post a few pictures of the babies all grown up. I just had to come say hi!

And ask....

Is this egg really this blue? (From the photo below). Or is it lighter and just lighting makes it appear this bold?

I was really hoping to get some this cooler when I ordered my super blue layers last year (Americauna/ WL) but their color isn't that blue! It's way lighter. They lay very reliably though, so that is a plus.

My Avatar is Rumpless. Are they changing what she is? She is my rumpless EE.

This is Snowball, my frizzle Easter egger. She hasn't laid an egg yet but it should happen any day now.

I LOVE her! I have a frizzle NN roo that I was thinking about breeding to my EE hens to see what would happen. Too bad the EE hens that are left do not have the muffs. :( (mine were Americauna bread with white leghorn to get a more productive layer) the only one that hatched with muffs was possibly picked up by a hawk.... She just vanished without a trace one day and at bedtime I realized she was gone.

This was her first real egg and the shade is a little lighter than the picture. The egg was quite small also. I am sure that her eggs will get a hair lighter and hopefully larger. This one was only 44 grams.
