The EE braggers thread!!!

She's going on her 4th year so that makes sense :)
Think its safe to leave her with them? She's treading soft, cooing and letting them climb all over.
But she's never even seen a roo let alone raise chicks. She does tolerate the free range meaties but honestly they grow so fast they're as big as her almost in a few weeks lol

She looks perfectly content. I would leave here with them. So sweet!

Instant family without the hassle of sitting on the eggs. I wonder if she will stay with them.

I've had two EEs go broody. One at a year, one was two years.

Lol don't we all wish we could skip that part lol I have to go to work in a few...and Lock up that room when I go :/ I'm nervous. She's got food n water. I have a lid for the brooder and it a huge brooder, I'd hate myself if I came home to dead chicks.
But they all look happy. Ug. Wish I could observe and not have to leave.

I think, um, I'm going to leave her be. I've never seen her all sweet like this she's usually a butt. Fingers crossed all goes well. I have about 15 minutes before I leave to decide on the lid. My hen is fierce on predators like a Roo, but in a room and I don't know what kind of predator. Ug. A snake or rat she can take, seen it before and not worried, a coon or opossum? Probably not :( I did secure everything best I could[ssee. All cracks, doors and checked for hiding bad guy. Can't believe I'm this worked up over chickens lol.

Found my EE hen in the brooder this morning with the tractor supply chicks. She snuck in while doing chores and seems quite content lol I dunno if she's gonna finally lay again after molting or if she's going broody. EEs don't usually go broody right? She better be laying! Lol

She looks like she is contemplating motherhood and wants to foster those chicks for you. If so, let her do it...saves a lot of work for you!
