I am new to EEs and I have 3 gorgeous pullets 2 light rust one of those with a completely blue head and the other with blue splashed on her neck. The third one is blue and gold gold laced with the body being blue laced and her head and neck gold laced. I have a lakenvelder, partridge cohcin, barred rock and Columbian wyandotte roos. Do you know which would be the better choice to breed to keep the blue in the feathers?
OK here are a few pics. My Dominique was mad that I wasn't taking hers too.
Blue Red Splash--Pullet
Not sure of the actual name but I call it Blue Golden Duckwing. Pullet
Another BLue Golden Duckwing. Pullet.
This nad the next are more Blue Red Splash-both Pullets.
And, Another pullet Blue Red Splash.
I think any one of them would work and produce quite a bit of blue coloration for you. Personally I would use the Columbian Wyandotte.Thank you for the names. Its 2 pics of just 3 birds. Should I go look for a roo that's blue or will one I mentioned earlier work for breeding as I want to keep the blue coloring.
Nice that looks like what I'm trying for. I just love the EEs I call them my sunshine girls. It always looks like they are smiling.I thnk any one of them would work and produce quite a bit of blue coloration for you. Personally I would use the Columbian Wyandotte. YOuo might get something like this one:, might not can see it very good, I no longer have this one though. He threw me a good bunck of babies and some had blue in them. I called this one a Blue Columbian Splash.
I usually watch for and keep the ones with peacombs. Not sure if the rosecomb will be dominate over the pea or not. You can always find a EE roo later and breed back for the pea comb though.Nice that looks like what I'm trying for. I just love the EEs I call them my sunshine girls.
