Lets hope so.......Nice looking chick, I was looking at this Trend when I saw your chick and I have a 3 week old chick that is starting to grow some hear feathers and has dark shank's and has five toe's cute little thing and once I get my new SD card for the camera I will be posting new photos of him s/he is a cross with one of my EE pullets and a French Molted Houdan roosters who was out with the free ranging EE's so I thank you for letting me know what this chick might look like .......
The Rooster in the one to your left .....

A girl on another thread had to cull her baby silkie that got wry neck and could not eat, drink etc, so there was a discussion on causes, including a drawing of vaulted skull and normal skull. It made me decide I wanted nothing to do with vaulted skulls. It makes them so much more vulnerable to brain injury, which sounds so heartbreaking. I'm not into showing, just having a healthy, beautiful and hardy flock. I would also really like a 'Silver Falcon' Easter Egger. It might have been on the other EE thread. It was gorgeous!
I can answer the question on splash . At the qualifying meet for the Ameraucana breed there were 6 breeders showing . I was one of those breeders . It takes 5 breeders of a variety for 5 years to get them in . So 8 varieties were being raised by 6 people . A huge undertaking for so few people . Splash and splash wheaten were just byproducts of blue and blue wheaten breeding . Not enough in existence at the time to show . Consider getting 8 varieties ready to show . Then consider getting 10 varieties ready and breeding all of these at once in the creation of the breed . We really did what some considered a impossible task . Not 1 variety has been added in the 30 years since acceptance . Who will join us to finish the task ? We have spent the last 30 years getting them better . We still have project colors we are working on . Only 2 of the original breeders are left still breeding .
You guys did awesome, personally I'd like to thank all of you for bringing us the Breed !!
Who are the two originals still at it ? John & Mike?
