Don't the hens always look like they are daring you to put your hand in there?


And I'm on broody 14 for the year now. One hen has gone broody 3 times now.

yes the Mama's do have a fierce look, and there are some I wouldn't dare reach in... but Peachy only looks like she's got stink eye... she's bonded with me and trusts that I wouldn't take a chick more than a few inches away. mostly, I like to give them a boost up onto her back, for a photo. by tomorrow, they'll be able to do it all by themselves! ahh, they grow up so fast...

this girl decided to sit on some eggs in the heat of the summer..

She is one of our girls from @Maryhysong in Arizona. . her eggs were a beautiful green color throughout her laying season. Can't wait to see what they look like after her raising the chicks.

I have a broody hen that looks exactly like yours!

A lot of reds and maybe some gold and some could even have some blue mixed in.

Mostly guessing on this one . Picture will not enlarge for me . I will assume he is a splash version of your normal so called partridge EE . If so all chicks will have blue in places where they are normally black .

So you think some would come out blue? Or do you mean like a splash with blue in it?
