Beautiful rooster you got there!
What beautiful EE'S you have, they are one of my favorite chickens to have in my flock. Such personalities, all are differentSeems like it's been rather quiet here lately! I got out and took some pictures of the flock the other day, and thought I'd share the ones of my Easter-egger girls here. They all turned out to be beard shots, but oh, well.

And these two are Cressy and Maggie, the grumps.I think they're trying to hide in their beards until winter's over.

I have one. Not sure of I'll get of again though. Out of 2-4 hatches, maybe a total of 60 eggs, I've hatched a or so dozen chicks. But, it works for someThanks! That was more or less what I was thinking. This is the incubator I was thinking about getting. Yes or no? I'm sure I should be posting on a hatching thread, but I really want to get my feelers out for good Ameraucanas to join my 'Operation: Well Muffed Wild Colors' breeding project.![]()
My little easter egger chick is developing what looks like a pretty serious crossed beak. I had no idea it was so common. Hopefully she can work around it. Any idea what her chances might be? This is my first time with chickens so I have no experience with the failure/success rate of birds with this deformity.
Ignore my cuticles....
I have a crossed beak Rooster. He's over a year old, and going strong. Mostly you have to worry that they are getting enough food and water. Lift her regularly to see if she's close to the same weight of the others. I feed fermented food and think that may be one of the major reasons he has made it this long. You might try giving her crumbles mixed with water, so it's the same consistancy of fermented food if you're not wanting to take on fermented. My roo always just gobbles down the food, but has much less luck with the chopped corn. Good Luck, unfortunately they don't all make it, but I think food and water problem is probably the biggest problem.
