The EE braggers thread!!!

My daughter named them. The current chickens are named:
4 Y/Os: Yue, Zia (Anconas), Echo, Zorra( Black Australorps), Fae, Peep (Cubalayas), Persephone (EE), Anais, Clemance (Faverolles)
1 Y/Os: Athena, Eos, Penelope (EEs), Mellori, Nuit (non standard BAs), Angel, Yuki (White Rocks)

Hey everyone! We've had our two EE's for about 9 months and they are great! They're names are Henny and Arlo. We thought for the longest time that Arlo was a cockerel, which is why she has the boyish name! :lau

This is Henny. When she was a chick she was light red with dark brown mixed in and two little black "chipmunk stripes". She is so sweet and unlike most of the other hens she's "drama free"! She lays a medium sized mint green egg.

This is Arlo. When she was a chick she was all an off-white color with two black "chipmunk stripes". It kind of made her seem mysterious, yet very pretty! She lays a medium sized very light brown egg.

I love our two EE's and hope to get more some day! I love there colorful eggs and beautiful feather patterns!

Hatchery sourced Easter Eggers are actually the descendants of the original stock imported from South America in the early 1900s. There have been other breeds bred in occasionally to boost production rate, but are largely unchanged from the birds that the Araucana breed and the Ameraucana breed were derived from.
Araucana and Ameraucana were both created using the same sort of birds that the hatcheries are breeding, but were refined and selectively bred toward a specific set of goals. The hatcheries have done no such breeding. They select purely for a variety of egg color and productivity.

so there's usually a variety of EE colors, right?

Hello! I have two EEs, one is almost 8 weeks old and there other about 5. They are fun to watch grow to see how they will turn out! I agree they are great chickens :)

These are my first chickens, mine were also labeled Ameracauna at the feed store but i had researched beforehand and knew they were EE (which is what i wanted). Why is there so much chronic mis-labeling?

Whiskey:

Scotch:

Can't wait to see what color eggs they lay!

Alright how sweet them ladys look and with names like Whisky & Scotch must mean they are party animals
