The EE braggers thread!!!

So, where would you find the true breeds rather than Easter Eggers? Is a certain hatchery recommended?
Araucana can not be obtained from any hatchery. Cackle hatchery has unsexed Black Ameraucana. Both Meyer and MyPetChicken.com have Blue/Black/Splash Ameraucana sexed.
All other hatcheries have mislabeled Easter Eggers.
For other varieties, you must purchase from a breeder.

Just got my EEs from Meyer there sooo cute with there muffs! How do you tell what color there going to be when the grow up?

I got 3 EEs from Meyer June last year. One was nearly pure white with the FAINTEST apricot hint (an I THINK I see it hint) on top of her head. She stayed mostly white with an apricot splash on her breast and running down her back. Eos:

The other two were chipmunk, one with a hint of orange, the other with a hint of gold. Those are the colors that came through.

Athena - she has a partridge pattern:

She looks very much like Persephone, my 4 Y/O EE from Ideal but Persephone has a black head.

Penelope, she has a "wild partridge" pattern:

So while you CAN'T know what a chick will look like as an adult, you can get an idea of what their "dominant" color might be.

All three are lovely! What is the description/difference between partridge and wild partridge coloring?

That first hen is a Splash partridge. She's lovely, by the way.
