The EE braggers thread!!!

All of my chicks were purchased at the same time in April. My Delaware was the largest, next the EE, and smallest was the Buff Cochin. The Delaware started laying the end of August, and the Cochin (still the smallest) a month ago. Still no squatting or bright red comb from the EE. Is she just a late bloomer? I cherish the other two, but I am excited for the colorful eggs.

I think it just depends on how they may have been selected.

Mine last year started laying at approx. 5.5 months.
They're offspring started at 5 months.
But I've been selecting and hatching from the earlier layers.

I have a girl from my May 14 hatch who's laying. Laying for how long I don't know.

She's pretty confident in the nest box because she took a gouge outta my hand. Ouch!
She's the first one to ever do that.

Your girl's a lovely bird!
Molting doesn't help at this time of the year either.
I think she's on schedule with most.
