Carolina Blues are sexlinks, not autosexing. They don't breed true. But, the Blue gene can make it difficult to distinguish the head spots and the barring later on, on the males.

Autosexing is repeatable in future generations. Sexlinks are a one-time, first generation deal.If you can tell the sex, I am under the impression, that is autosexing. If the color or some trait only shows up in the males or females that is sex linked. Then that trait is sex linked.
You can autosex a sex linked chick, by the trait.
Am I in error?

Sexlinks are mixed breeds. Autosexing is usually a 'purebred' trait.
It's two very different things that produce similar outcomes. But using the term autosexing to describe sexlinks is kind of like using the word blue to describe self blue/lavender birds. It's similar, but different.Sorry, I was still editing when you copied.
I understand where you are coming from, but do not agree absolutely.
I think it is sort of like arguing over Tomato TOE-MAY_TOE and Toe- Ma-Toe.
So thought I'd update...When we cracked that jumbo open it looked to be a soft-shelled egg inside of a hard-shelled egg. It was actually pretty gross and I ended up having just sausage for breakfast!Ouch! Was it a double yolker?
Quite common from what I've read. Of course, my girls laid perfect eggs.So thought I'd update...When we cracked that jumbo open it looked to be a soft-shelled egg inside of a hard-shelled egg. It was actually pretty gross and I ended up having just sausage for breakfast!Has anyone else seen this?...This was only her third egg so I am hoping it's won't happen as she starts laying more.

we had a soft shelled egg a few times almost like a thick membrane, we just ripped it open and it was fine, last week we had a soft egg in a nest that was ripped with no yolk, 2 weeks ago we had a really tiny egg. almost half sized. right now im thinking our chickens are stressed, we lost our best layer of our largest egg, our orpington to our dog, and since then one of our araucana has stopped laying and the rest seem irregular, we 1st thought the dog got her when she ventured to the front of the garden, but i think maybe the dog got her round the back in front of the others. So thought I'd update...When we cracked that jumbo open it looked to be a soft-shelled egg inside of a hard-shelled egg.
