Here are our 2 bantam EE's-Blue and Mort. We also have 2 babies that we hatched out in Feb and are still waiting to see what we end up with-pretty sure one is a boy and hope the other is a girl.
These are close up of the 2 babies: we think the first is a boy and the second is a girl
I will be getting two EE chicks the end of April, along with a Barred Rock chick. Hoping for girlies, of course, only because the laws here are no good when it comes to Roo's. Though they are beautiful!! I am mostly hoping for layers/pets, and so far I am read EE's seem to be very friendly. Anywho, I will post pictures as soon as they come home! I just finished the coop/run today, and now just need a heat light and we should be good to go!
This is my first time ever ... HATCHING! The new homemade bator must work just fine cuz I got 5 chicks and 2 more pips! KatyTheChickenLady, of the 12 you sent, 6 made it to lockdown. Of those 6 eggs, 2 have hatched (1 Goldilocks and 1 Red Riding Hood) and the Big Daddy egg has pipped! I'm waiting waiting for some action from the one from Roy and 2 from Little Baby. Most of the other eggs I set will be EE's too from evonne. I have 1 EE X EE hatched and 2 EE X BR hatched with a EE X RIR pipped. I'm sooooo excited! They are too cute for words.
My two new chicks -- out of an order of 8 from Estes I got a gorgeous assortment. First one is almost all yellow with light V (wings are coming in white) and second is very blue. I'll update when they're older
These are the EE X EE (dark) and EE X RIR from evonne ...
Let me just say thanks to both KatyTheChickenLady and evonne. You guys are awesome. This was a real great experience and I can hardly wait to try again ... mainly because most of the ones I wanted to hatch the most, didn't! I got a 50% hatch of what went into lockdown from both egg suppliers. I must try again! But really, thanks, I couldn't have done it without your knowledge, experience, encouragement and your EGGS!!! I love these chicks and my sister is also soooo very happy!
This is the PEEP SHOW ... my indoor only for about a week if they don't drive me crazy sooner brooder!
