The EE braggers thread!!!

I've been in denial, but today I think Rita....oops I mean Ricardo crowed. Agree?

I have to ask again, just for confirmation in my brain.

I have 19, 5-6 week old EE's and 2 wyandotte chicks (which 1 is boy, one is a girl)

That leaves 17 EE's, I am , finger crossed thinking, at least 10 are pullets.

at this age, if their comb isn't reddening like the roos, that are (as 4 are quite red, well, compared to the others), would that be indicative of a pullet. single row, instead of the definite roos, who are reddening and have 3 definite rows on their pea combs?

Wow, your Alice looks just like my Lilly. I hope she lays lovely green eggs too. Lilly came from MPC and is 8 weeks old. I hadn't seen another white EE with the muffs in the pictures here.

I have a white EE from MPC.. Her egg is a little more blueish than in the above pic. She has one tail feather with a little black on it, other wise pure white.

I consider her my best EE, first layer, "smartest" bird, most regular layer, friendly, not a pig.... and so forth...

I have some large fowl and bantam eggs in the incubator now that will be for sale later. PM me if you're interested and I'll let you know what hatches out.

The large fowl are all from my Araucana rooster, Rudy, and my 4 Maran hens (4 cuckoo and 1 wheaten). The last one's I hatched included several barred chicks but they will all be roosters (sex links). All 12 were rumpless and cute as can be. I put the 3 on auction that I had kept back for myself but then took them off the auction because I really want to see them mature and so I can let buyers see what they may expect as well. The only reason I felt I should sell them in the first place was so I can tell my true Araucana eggs from the Marans with no other blue egg layers, that would be a snap. These chicks have been so nice that I guess I just need to make another pen just for these crosses to grow someout and evaluate them as mature birds. I don't know what they will produce like but I figure I'll have an extra Araucana rooster so I'll only be keeping a few pullets and no roosters from the eggs incubating now. All that means is that there will be some pullets as well as the roosters available.

The bantams are all eggs from my bantam Araucana hen, Bluesy, and one of my Serama roosters from Jerrys Seramas. They will be nice and small and this is a very nice cross (proven with some adults now) for some super sweet lil chickens with the nicest, softest feathering. I've bought a bantam Araucana rooster for her so these are for a limited time only, till the new rooster gets here but then I'll have some nice bantam Araucana's to sell that will make really cute crosses to whatever you have in small size. The one's with a tail and/or no tufts will be "cheap" but they will be awesome lil EE makers.
