The EE braggers thread!!!

Oh, love the shape of her body - she is very sweet and feminine looking. Lovely, lovely, lovely!!!! Do you know the breeds of her parents? It looks a lot like a blue wheaten Ameraucana cross to me....
and I'm trying not to lust too badly after that incredible lawn of yours.

she is pretty , maybe some light brahma or something of the sort wiht the columbian gene from coloring on the neck and yet light in color , and some blue wheaton in their as well ... as for her muff is she was the second generatioin of EE , she would most likely not have a muff , but she still is gorgeous , if you could find a wheaton or blue wheaton ameraucana roo you would definately be hatching some gorgeous chicks for sure , at least i would say

Thanks! I really like them, too. I only have 3 EEs, and they all have blue in them. I used them for Olive Eggers for awhile (BCM roo), then I just let them go to the Layer's Coop where there was a Delaware rooster. This girl insisted on hatching, so she has a couple little chicks. I think they are both female, too. I can hardly wait to see what they look like grown up. I see some blue coloring coming in.

This is a half sister of hers (who unfortunately got killed by a stray dog

) I remember seeing the parents when we picked up the eggs, and if memory serves, they looked someting like this...with the roo being bigger and more colorful.

The lawn is almost entirely crabgrass which will all be dead at first frost. They have an acre of it to roam when we let them out of the pen.

Her brother (also killed) was mostly white with brown splashes on his wings. Don't think he had a muff either.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

She is a real lady in my flock. Dainty and "relying on the kindness of others."

My friend had luck at the feed store choosing the black or bluer looking chicks, She came up with hen that laid beautiful blue eggs. The eggs hatch chicks that had blue eggs also Because I hatched some of her egges.

Some one here hatch cuckoo marans cross EEs. I ended up with a EE/cuckoo It is cuckoo colored and has a beard cant remember if it has feathered legs. Its still young so does that mean it is a rooster because it is cuckoo colored?

Could be a sex link cross so it would be a rooster. So far, the cuckoo/barred chicks from my BBR Araucana rooster and Maran hens have been roosters....rumpless and clean faced. There are threads in this forum that discuss how the sex linked cross works but I think that it only works if the hens are barred/cuckoo and the rooster is solid. My rooster is sort of a BBR but his breast really isn't all that black. I am assuming he would be classified as a solid but then he does have some patterning on his chest so I'm not sure. I have some really dark maran eggs in the incubator now. They're out of my only maran hen with feathered legs. This will be the first one's I've gotten from her so I'm really excited. I'm saving up more now so I should have half a dozen or more and we'll see how they turn out.

Jasmine still hasn't caught up to the bigger girls and does a lot of dodging. It has made her very skittish even around us. We decided to do a night time petting session in the house to get some EE petting time in and grabbed her from the coop. She's now 3.5 pounds. Not fully grown but getting closer now.
