The EE braggers thread!!!

Have finally figured out how to upload photos to my post so here a couple pics of my EE's from the line that I have been breeding for many years now. Almost lost it all last Winter when raccoons entered my storm- wreaked coop and killed everyone but one roo and one hen! Lost about 15 chickens in one nite. Hatched eggs from the survivors and now I am rollin' again. Most of my chicks are these two colors as seen in the pics.

My EE's started laying at about 7 months, out of the 9 I have there are only about 4 that are laying and not consistantly, sometimes they may take a little longer I figure by about 9 months usual, but then again winter is coming on so they may stop all together.

I have a hen that looks just like the silver duckwing in your picture. No beard, but I think she does have a peacomb, have to check on that later.

I loved that fanned out tail from the first picture on the right. But they all seem to have a nice full tail? What is their age ? I wish pees would make it a habit to post ages because it is significant.

These pullets are all this Spring hatched and all out of my only surviving hen that is the color of the gold colored ones. I call her "Peg" as this past Winter the snow was very deep and after the 'coon massacre she fled and slept in the snow and most of her toes froze off that nite and she walks with a limp now. She is definitely one tuff bird!

I had three beautiful EE's, but they were killed by a mink this summer. Fortunately one of the roos contributed to the next generation.

The two little black bundles of chirping joy are ten-week old chicks (J and Shadow) fathered by my deceased blue EE roo (mom was a Barred Rock). The cuckoo Polish in the back is their broody mom (who survived the attack), and has done a wonderful job raising the chicks.

I also obtained two EE pullets from a fellow Michigan BYCer. They don't have beards, but they are sweet girls. They're both crosses of a Deleware hen and a Blue-Wheaten Ameracauna roo.

Next year I hope to have some silly crosses of EE and Brabanter roosters who have a black beard and a limited but high crest that is more like a Mohawk. That should be fun ! I am also hoping to find a lovely Ameraucana couple to breed and help make even more interesting EE birds.

I love the hearts on the middle one, is that one of the "brabanter", is that a common marking on them? They are very pretty.
