Wow emjay, I think Arrow is very prety, I've never seen one that "buff" colored before. I say buff but it looks more golden buff to me.
Anyway I really like her.

thankyou !! I literally hatched Arrow myself, so she's got a special place here on the ponderosa

I look forward to seeing all the egg colors sooooon. In a month or so, anyways..haha.

nope , not just you, I LOVE the variety of the EE's. I got rid of my breeding flock of BLRW's, not enough variety, haha. and the colored eggs are a bonus.

I do have three other breeds, but my EEs are the prettiest. Mine were older when I got them and they had pretty much been free-ranged and not hand fed, so mine are pretty shy. I'd like to raise some babies from these and tame them down more. I don't have an EE roo however. Does anyone know how pretty the offspring might be if you crossed an EE with a Buff Orpington? Would I get something gorgeous like some of yours, Emjay?

well, my roo I posted above is that exact combination. So you just might get something very similar. I had one very similar to him this spring, he's living at another farm, he was a lighter buff color, no black highlights, so their has been variance with them. But, the buff color seems to be a very dominant color in this mix, for me anyways. and I lucked out that the peacomb and beard was passed on as well.
the other two solid buff hens above are also from that Buff Orp/EE combo.
