I got my new Easter Egger rooster! He is the gentle-est, sweetest guy! He was rescued by a lady who lives near the farm where the barn was burned. This wonderful lady rescued 27 chickens after the fire and found homes for them!

I found the ad on Craigslist - Rooster needs a Hen House - $10 (commerce city)

I carried him into a friend's apartment in Arvada and sat him on top on his cage to take this picture of him and he started crowing!

BTW - where are most of you getting your stock from - and i realize that alot of these relate to Ameracauna's - but what is the temperament like - varying bird to bird really ?

we got ours from 2 local breeders and call them mix color ameraucanas or non standard ameraucanas. if they were just mix breed mutts then how come so many of them look the same? love their temperament and can turn my back on the rooster. one of the hens loves to be picked up.

HEre's my 2 favorite EE roosters. Brothers from the same hatch. So red and orange and blue and beautiful! And super shiny. They're last spring's hatch.
