Mine are only 10 wks old so no idea right now what color mine will lay. They are hatchery from Meyer, and on other threads have read the colored egg gene is tied to the comb type gene. Pea combs have over 95% chance of being colored (some version of blue or green) and single combed hens over 95% chance of being brown egg layers. Based on those numbers almost all of my girls (and my one and only
boy ) have pea combs, only have about 4 that have single combs. And one that is clean faced
but only one so that is good. She is one of the ones w/ unique coloring. The majority are various versions of quail coloring (dark, light, black beard, grey beard) one that is quailish w/ smokey grey (blueish) may not go back to quechua but I think she is gorgeous
. Two whites, and an apricot and white mix (the clean faced one) the boy is black and white, but just now started getting "rusty spots"
