I had a small pink colored egg this AM when I went out to open the small run door to let my birds out. This is the second time I've found one like it this week. I'm thinking one of my EE/GC pullets is starting to lay and giving me a pink egg. I was hoping for a blue/green egg, but just happy for what I get.
Medicine Man and anyone else have you ever mixed an Ameraucana with Polish to make a crested EE. I have eggs in the incubator of Brabanter over EE hen and by next season hope to make the Am/Polish cross. Since the Brabanter crest is small it might not make much of a transfer but I will see. Frankly I like the Brabanter crest because it is more utilitarian. And besides personality trait, I am looking for utility not just looks. The Silkie, Hodan and Polish crests limit sight and make chickens more vulnerable. I admit I have a showgirl pair but that was an accident due to chicken math !
M to the MAX a unique group of EEs there Doodle is my favorite and of course the rooster is very pretty. Almost barred black and white chest replicated in his beard is funny and charming.
vebyrd36 It is tricky deciding how an EE chick will look when they grow up and that is one of the reasons that EE owners like the "breed". There is some common looks in this bird but you never know until it happens. So do not be surprised if a lot of folks do not come to you rescue and give a prediction on how your birds will look. If you have the time you could book mark this thread and read it through to learn as much as you can. I love the fact that you have the feet included in the pictures. That is great and BTW what is the source of your chicks ? Did you get them from a local person ?

I ordered them from ideal. They were to be Ameraucanas but I was told otherwise. I'm okay with them as EE. I wanted to know what the little cute one was. I think she is a girl. So is very friendly. What do you think??
