crash0330 - They'll feather in a tad more like a Wheaten Marans than a Wheaten Ameraucana. More black/blue, and a little darker, more proper color.

flower - It is for a color project. Granted I'll get nice sky blue eggs out of these, but the goal of the breeding is more than 3 generations down the road.

I take it ALL BACK!!!!! I posted last week that my 2 EE girls had laid their first eggs...brown! on Good Friday there were 2 pale green eggs in the nest box!!!!! i take it all back!!!!!

Ideally the first gen will look a lot like typical Easter Eggers, but with slate legs, well fanned tails, the tiniest crest if one at all, and a slight possibility of a very small amount of mottling. One so far looks like it will get some mottling. I've still got more due to hatch in a few weeks.

I have 4 Hens & a Roo that I kept from a box of 11 chicks I got at the local auction. The girls have recently started to lay and they are laying Olive-colored eggs. I think only 1 is laying so far and I am excited to see if the other girls lay different colored eggs or if they'll all be olive.... So can I still show em off here?
