The EE braggers thread!!!

Hi! I had 2 EE "pullets". the not-so-pullet found a home with a family that managed to get 10 for 10 pullets and actually WANTED a roo. This is "Love" who will share a coop with 2 delawares, 2 speckled sussex and 2 gold sexlinks - at least she will once the rain lets up enough for me to finish the bleepity bleep coop!

Just found this message thread!
I ordered 5 EE's from mypetchicken.com last summer '10 and am very happy with them. They range in color from darker (blue wheaton maybe?) to the more buff color. All 5 lay blue/green eggs. 3 are pretty pale but 2 are a darker pretty color. We love the color variety in our egg cartons and did not even have to dye easter eggs this year...just glittered them. lol

Today I placed another chick order for this summer. Had to throw in 3 more EE's. Just love them. Also getting some Welsummer for their dark brown eggs (already have medium and light brown eggs) and even some white egg layers. I want to have the full rainbow of eggs. Any other colors I have missed? lol!

Yeah I can get live chicks sent to Hawaii that arrive the second day but half the time online stores will not even send me a book cuz I am "in Hawaii". Like it is another planet. Lol.

I just received my new baby chicks -- and along with some other breeds, ordred Bantam EEs! I have fullsize EEs and love them, so I decided to try the mini version this time.

I love the variety of colors - the silver one is my favorite and I really hope it's a female (I ordered these SR)

This is a pic of them next to a fullsize EE:

I have a few EEs and EE mixes in the hatch I have going on today!

No chicks from my blue eggs yet but several have pipped. I started collecting eggs today for my "blue eggs only" hatch. My goal is to breed a roo of my own that breeds true for blue eggs and keep him long enough that, if he covers a girl that lays blue, I can know the offspring will be a blue egg layer.

I just took some pictures of my 5 EEs at 2 weeks old and had to share:

I put them in the same order as I did on Post #3648 in case you want to compare. (When they are all grown up, I'll put them on the plumage thread.) The lightest colored chick in the third picture was the first chick to hatch and spent a few hours huddled beneath the shadow of my head before the others hatched and he felt better. But now he is the one who freaks out the most when I handle him, with the black-with-speckles fellow in the second picture as a close second.

Still, the others like me well enough... The first chick is my favorite of all of the chicks, including the Wellies and Sussexes. Hoping for a pullet!

I've begun my second hatch and set Wheaten/Blue Wheaten and Silver Ameraucanas today! When all's said and done, I should have a pretty flock and pretty eggs!
