Is this a better pic for color?

The black one is a Cochin EE cross with gorgeous feathered feet, and the blue one is a BLRW EE cross. I figure she's splash? Really beautiful pullet. I've never really had a laced bird before. You can see the lacing on her chest, but her wings are kind of blue/red barred. Will that molt out as she matures like the penciling does in partridge babies? Either way, I love them both. I had a bigger blue Cochin EE cross that my dog got carried away playing with.

I miss my third Musketeer something fierce.

I have a couple of new Easter Egger pullets, the two keepers remaining from four that were hatched in The Big One of 2011 (big hatch, that is).

Meet Shelby, a Wheaten Marans roo over EE hen, so technically, she'll probably be an olive egger type of EE:

...and Maretta, sired by a blue wheaten Ameraucana rooster over an EE hen:

I like the cushion comb on the Wyandotte x EE, I have never had a laced chicken or laced F1 so I don't know how they feather out.

Yay for Easter Eggers!!! I have a mixed flock of EEs, Cuckoo Marans, Dark Cornish, White-Laced Red Cornish, RIRs, Plymouth Rocks and Golden Wyandottes. The Easter Eggers are my favorites so far (they are only 5.5 weeks old). One little pullet I've named Copper, she is a gorgeous bright orange and is getting blue or silver and black colors mixed in...I can't wait to see what she will look like when she is fully mature. She is so sweet, she is the only one that will hop up into my lap or on my shoulder and sit with me. She is very bold, always the first one to run up to new people and the first one to check out anything new in the coop. I have 2 others that are looking like the partridge color pattern, and one that is mostly blue/silver with some red and black. They are the best!
