Moved my sentence. It was trapped in the wrong part here.

Anyway, nice EE's.What color eggs do they lay?

The blue egg in my avatar pic is Sparrow's and the green one next to it is Cleopatra's.

The chipmonk ones are one quarter Wyandotte, half EE, and the rest is NH, RIR, and BR. They are the result of four generations of selective breeding. The yellow one is half Silkie, one quarter EE, and one quarter Buff Orpington.

It will be cool to see what they grow up to be.

Your selective breeding is with a view to what? just curious.

I have been selecting for quick growth, high egg production, broodiness, deep body capacity (hence good egg laying and meat qualities), and now blue eggs which will be more green than blue for a few generations due to crossing which brown egg layers.

Hi, EE experts! I've been reading about sexing EEs by feathering, but haven't figured it out! I have one 5 week old EE and am clueless if it's a boy or girl. Any input? Thanks!!!

Yippeee! I hope so! SHE is in with Ameraucanas and now 1 LF Cochin and is much bigger than them and feathered out so much faster. Being the one and only I really wasn't too sure.

Thanks so much!

Got a good shot of my Miss Blue today while she was out free ranging. She lays a large blue/green egg.

Miss Blue and Miss Brown went hunting on the "food mobile".

Miss Brown lays a small blue egg. She is hard core about laying. She lost the tip of one toe and still laid that afternoon. The first day moving in with Sherman the roo and the Marans she laid. She's a sweetie too.
