The EE braggers thread!!!

That is one of he most beautiful EE hens I have ever seen. I could gaze at her all day long. Where did you get her from?

Thanks! I love her dearly. I got her and her sisters from a guy with too few teeth and too many birds. She is from a hatchery, dunno which one. They were sharing an OLD chicken house with 30 other birds and a pig. She took a while to start laying and I was horrified at the thought of giving her back. Not just because of the conditions but mostly because I love looking at her. I've paired her with a blue copper Marans roo. I can't wait to see what their babies will look like.

My EE Rooster started crowing when he was about 6 weeks old

feathering out faster is a good thing if you're wanting pullets! especially the EE's - they seem to feather out much faster than my other breeds. have had one EE that turned out to be a roo and he was the last one to feather out. had no tail until he was 5-6 wks old!

I have not had all that many EEs but have found that they are all very different. One rooster that I hatched out with a female sibling started crowing at two weeks. Not incessantly but just like he wanted to know that he was able to crow. He was in the same run with older pullets but he and his sister stayed in their own coop. I hope to have many more next year.

She is beautiful. I have one named skyfire that could be her twin and she was from Meyer hatchery.
