She sure is beautiful!

And I have a special chick to show off, a Frizzled Easter Egger

I hope she's a girl, but anyway if so she'll lay sky blue eggs and grow to be a gold and black penciled bird with a small crest on her head.

I've got a couple more much younger than her, same parents, - Hoping for at least one more frizzle.

Yep I sure was

And yes, certainly will update with photos in a few months. If she's a he, I don't know what I'd do with him. It would be so hard to let go of him, and keeping him would be a bit hard too. I don't know if I want a frizzled male EE. Right now I'm already raising up a smooth male, but, who knows, perhaps I'll replace the smooth when the frizzled is old enough.

Yes, Ameraucana x anything else = Easter Egger, however Leghorns will keep the blue color

You have a typical mix though. Most EE's out there lay more green and olive type eggs than blue. If you want a good reliable blue, go for Ameraucanas, Araucanas, or specifically blue bred Easter Eggers. The last pullet I posted is an EE who will lay a gauranteed blue egg. Her mother lays a very, very rich blue and her father carries white genes.

Will that Leghorns cross improve size and production too? Got to try that one!!!! More project birds... will it ever end????

I just met someone today who has been working on an Easter egger/ Ameraucana/ Leghorn cross for the last 5 years. He has bred them out to be homozygous for blue genes and was at my ranch looking for darker blue eggs to richen up the color of his. I thought it was a neat project when he was explaining it to me.

It's so nice to hear others think they're as pretty as I do. EE's can be so much fun.

You are welcome, they are SOOO pretty! Do you have any hatching eggs for sale so I could hatch some?

I am going to give it a try... what could it hurt? The worst that could happen is that I have more layers
