Madame Dork, that is one smiley looking hen! I LOVE those cheeks!
Chicken lady, that one looks like my Lacy, which is the one that lays the pink eggs.
Artsy robin, that one looks like my Cocoa, who lays pale blue, but is the sweetest hen- until someone else gets "the lap" they she utters angry little "grr grrs" and leaps up and violently drives whoever is getting HER hugs out... But cocoa is more charcoal with white on her head this year after molt??? Will more of her red come back or is this something with the EE's? I actually want to breed for her color, using lavendar so the grey stays with the chicks. (That's for another discussion) She also has a hunch back; do orpingtons have hunch backs? I am trying to figure out if she's just deformed, or if it was in her parantage.

All ten of my chickens are on the tetracycline and I am not seeing any improvement. The four older girls may be getting some spots now. The BO's didn't even want to come out of their chicken tractor coop this morning. The Am mix has either scratched her eye with her foot or something else is wrong because she had blood on the corner of her eye this morning.

I'm waiting for the avian vet to get some info from Auburn University Vet School. She will call me when she finds out something. I'm so worried.

try psting the symptoms on the emergency board- what does the poop look like, what is their diet etc

I have 8 EE's/Ameraucana's. Out of them only 1 lays brown the rest lay blue/green. The brown egg layer has a small comb and waddles no beard or tuffs. The others are clean faced, peacombed, with beards and or tuffs.
Georgette note the small comb and waddles.=brown egger

Gretchen puffy beard cheeks and lil pea comb no waddles=green egger

I'm still pretty new at this. How do I post to the emergency board?

right clk the add new post button. You will want to add pictures and be as descriptive as possible with lving conditions, how long you ad them, current age, how long it's been oing on, current treatment if any. With out seeing a photo it will be only a guess.

Black spots can be lots of things from flock picking (dried blood injuries) to fowl pox.

Thank you. I don't know if I can get any pictures until Sunday. I can't do it before work and it's dark when I get home. From what I've been reading on the BYC site the pictures look like what my chickens look like which means possible fowl pox. The Am mix just seems to have a runny eye but she's scratching at it and the eye drops the vet gave me don't seem to be working.
