The EE braggers thread!!!

Finally! I am getting more babies! I got 3 EE well 5 I guess. 2 leghorn crosses and 3 EE, one looks wheaten... and might be we will see. So with the last batch I am up to 7 new EE WHOOT!

Has anyone crossed Ameraucana with polish crested? Will these make EE? Am I crazy to even think about it?
I was thinking of putting my black and blue Ameraucana hens with some kind of polish crested roo. There are several roos for sale in my area. I can get buff, silver-laced, or white crested black. They are so funky, I thought they would make for interesting EE.
Any suggestions on which roo?

ETA: I'm humbled after seeing Illia's pictures.

I just don't know what to do with my green laying BBS Ameraucana girls. Their eggs are so pretty, but they are not standard.

Hi everyone,
I have a quick question that has probably been asked a THOUSAND times but I couldn't find the answer to it....

Would you get a colored egg layer if you cross an EE roo with an EE hen?
Thanks for any input

If your EE hen lays colored eggs and your roo has a Pea comb, you would PROBABLY egg colored eggs.

I would not toss them in the EE pen because of egg color. You can work on egg color. Find you someone with good birds and BLUE eggs and get you a roo. You will eventually get better color. I have a nice Black AM pullet that just started to lay and she is laying a green egg. She will have to be worked with to get her offspring to have better color. I am mostly working on good types right now. Once I get plenty to work with I will worry about egg color. The second and third generations it will be a bigger issue with me if they are good type-ie birds.

Gee, thanks. Egg colored eggs....wonder if those would sell....

I just read that someone would only buy the blue, blue/green eggs at the farmers market cuz she just loved them so much. Now she has chickens to get her fix of colored egg.
