The EE braggers thread!!!

Wow I have a handsome Roo that looks similar to the boys posted earlier, may I ask how big your boys are? Captain Morgan as My Hubby named him is Huge! :) it's quite odd that this pic makes him look smaller and the girls look big when it's the opposite. Love my boy very good with his girls. Not a close up but you get the just, yes the brahma is tail less and he is beardless we had a feather plucker the has been removed.

I have hatched 7 chicks from him and my 2 barred Rock girls and all are pure black with no head Spots, all feathering out completely black too.
Very cute looking chicks that i will be keeping to watch them grow up, have more chicks growing in the bator. Here are the last 4 hatched.

You got me thinking about how big he IS, because he looks big. He doesn't like being caught, but I wanted to weigh him today. He weighs about 5 1/2 pounds. He must be all feathers and hollow inside... I guess because he is much bigger than the hens.. my largest hen 5# the rest in the 4#, except maybe one. He just looks so much bigger.... Once caught he is really sweet and docile too...... How big is your Captain Morgan?

I did the same LOL! Captain is the same way bout being caught and mellowing out once you catch him, he makes it a game! :) Captain weighs 7 lbs. He's doesn't eat much though he feeds the girls almost all of it or leads them to the goodies and will eat what little scraps are left! which with my piggies isn't much LOL!

He sure is handsome!

I wanted to share a photo of my EE roo. He is one of my favorites of all my chickens. I love those puffy cheeks!

What a guy!!
Hopefully I'm not starving Rox... He is about 6 1/2 months old....so he may reach 7 pounds.. IT is amazing how similar these particular roosters are in appearance. :O)

Well my chicks are 3-4 days old now. 99% are still gray. Some are showing cherry heads very interesting. Roo was a splash Maran, hens where Ameraucanas and EE's A few cochin babies popped up. They have the super fuzzy feet. Most of the hens that grow out will be olive eggers. Next year I will not hatch out the brown eggs just green and chocolate ones. After next year I will have to split my flock and build a second coop. I also have black/blue copper marans. The kids thought it was a good idea to stick the blue marans in with the grey EE's. So now I can't tell them apart. I have to wait till they grow out.
I also have 13 eggs under a broody. They started hatching last night. We will have to see how many made it.

My 48 EE's and 2 maran x cochin chicks

Most have light feathered shanks. Except the cochin mix they have feathers on shanks and toes.
1 yellow chick with yellow legs in a sea of grey.

20 BCM

could anyone help me identify what colors these are?
as a chick she was all brown then started getting white

?

..and pullet below was striped and turned into a grey undertone which i think is beautiful..with bits of copper and black
