The EE braggers thread!!!

So I got these three today by someone who said they were Aracaunas...no muffs at 5 weeks? And with tails? So, I bet they are EEs -the type with the naked face? Because my other three chipmunk EEs are 3-4 weeks and they all have tuffs. These new three are so cute! And very pretty. The two red ones have pink legs and the white one has green legs.

OMG I didn't even notice that! yes the white one (I posted two pictures of that one) has a pea comb and the other two have straight/single combs. Now I REALLY wonder what they are.

awww, very cute...I love the eyeliner on that pullet to the left in that last pic! Can't wait to see what yours and mine look like as adults. And if you really got a black and white hen, I'm going to be very VERY jealous

A black and white hen, is that hard to come by?

Well about half of my new babies have single combs not pea combs. Dad being a Maran mom's Ameaucanas and EE's. About 75% of them have some feathers on the legs too. But they are still EE's. But the ones with the combs most likely will lay dark brown eggs from my bunch. The pea combs will be olive layers. I'm not sure what the splash will lay. I'll let you know come NOV. LOL. I was wanting a Blue flock with chocolate and olive eggs. Next year I will breed out the feathered legs. I think I will split my flock. That will make the need for 2 roos. I will keep my splash maran and look for a olive egger roo not related to my girls.

Teva: if they have straight combs, I don't believe they can be purebred Aracaunas.

Marco: yeah, most black and white EE's turn out being roos, but boy are they BEAUTIFUL! Not all of them though, so maybe you got lucky.....if so, uh, wanna trade?

Just for the fun of it: Hey Simon, awesome beard and muffs, now where are the rest of them there feathers, eh?

I have a black and white hen. But she didn't get a beard or muffs. She came as an Ameraucana from a hatchery. None of the 11 chicks I got from them last year where true Ameraucanas just EE's. A pet peeve about that. But out of the 5 hens only one lays a tan egg.

Beatrice my 1 year old EE. Still a pretty girl even without the extra feathers.

This is Duck at about 4 weeks old. She was is supposed to be an "Ameraucana" . She looks like she might have some auracana background/back end. She is the only one with out tail feathers...is it too soon to say she will be rumpless?! She started out as a chipmunk baby.

And just to join in the fun...here are the rest of the lady's...possibly a roo or two...

No name yet....

Duck in the front, middle one is still nameless, in the back is Jenny - She started out very dark and ugly, maybe I should rename her swan...haha

This is Goose. She was a chipmunk chick.

This is Jenny.

No name yet.......these pics were taken on Easter, since then she has gotten way more blueish feathering on her head.

Rosie, she is by far my favorite. Every time I watched them in the brooder and now the coop she has to come sit on my hand and will put up a fuss if I don't let her snuggle up to me. She is named after a wine from Americana Vineyards - Sweet Rosie.

Lady the dog. Best Christmas present ever!
