Well, when I picked her up out of the livestock tank at the feed store, there were about a hundred others that looked just like her then.

Don't know if any of them would have developed the same, but let's say no...Paula being completely unique. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

She reminds me of Illia's "Olive Egger" in terms of feather and body shape, just different base colors. I love the big breasted look they have, though I hope that doesn't turn into the top-heavy shape of a meaty.

I think she is definately on the more unique side, I haven't seen any on this thread w/ her coloring /and patterning. In my opinion that is the best thing about EE in particular and mixes in general, they are so unique, I just LOVE that

That one is do bantam chicks vs regular sized chicks feather out at different rates?

The other question has more to do with EE particularly...
do EEs always have green legs? Does anyone know what causes this coloration? Or do EEs just have anything other than the slate colored legs.

Also, one more....the comb...
Do EEs have a variety of comb types or do they have the pea comb like Ameraucanas?

I can answer the ones for the EE's.

usally, not always, alot of the times they have blue legs like Ameraucana's.
02) Does anyone know what causes this coloration?
the genes combined for the blue legs and the yellow legs, remeber in science yellow
and blue make green?
03) Do EEs have a variety of comb types or do they have the pea comb like Ameraucanas?
Differences of opinon, I personally feel they should have a peacomb, but because there
is no standard for Easter Eggers they may have any type comb.

It is entirely up to the breeder as to what EE's should and should not have.

If you want green/blue eggs you want the pea comb. It's almost always related.

Now that is interesting. I got a bunch of blue-green eggs that I collect a couple of months ago from I wasnt sure which hens were laying them. The babies dont look a thing like EEs that Ive seen and Im wondering what the pullet eggs will look like that came from these eggs. In any case, none of the suspected hens have pea combs.

Yes I am very familiar with color mixing, hues, etc. I had just never heard of the Ameraucana leg color as referred to as blue but I the slate leg is considered blue then that does make perfect sense....thank you.

Yes, slate and blue ( at least I) considered the same.
