The EE braggers thread!!!

how cool that you have a twin, I will check her out! Mine is the soul survivor of a batch of ideal EE. I love this color and im glad she survived the hawk attack as she was the prettiest!
My girl came from Cackle hatchery. That's too bad about your hawk attack! EE's are my favorite. I love all the colors :) An owl got into my coop a couple months ago and killed all my polish but one, and the one that survived was the prettiest too! What a coincidence.

how cool, not about the attack, that is horrible...but about your fav surviving...that NEVER happens to me... normally it is the nicest that gets pick out first!!! I just had a 3 week old EE escape form their set up...I dont know how and it is just gone...and of course it was my fav....

Quote: Yes, that is great for checking eggs you want to eat. A lot of hatchers want to see why an egg did not hatch, so they crack open the ones that don't hatch.

If I do crack one open, I use the bag. If they smell at all I do not open them any more. I actually don't do this much any more. Its too depressing to see a fully formed chick that did not hatch..

Ok here are a few pics of my EE babies they are from Ideal they were sold as americona. They are all different colors and all different personalities. You will see a few guinea mixed in. I am raising them together.

About 2 months old

The day we got them.

In the brooder we go

Our only one with this mark..thought it was cool.

3 weeks old...mixed with guinea

I Love my little eight week old Roo, but my 16 week old speckled sussex doesn't. I am going to find a new home for my little guy and possibly the speckled sussex, too. Of course everyone was supposed to be pullets but you know how that goes. I live in Oregon if anyone is interested please let me know. I wish they would all just love each other, but 3 roos outta 15 supposed pullets is too many

He's a cutie and started crowing at 3 weeks.

Yea...I have a few roo's in with my pullets as well, I think... dont the males feather in late? because I have like 4 outs 15 that have NO tail feathers and the others are almost 2-3" long now....but I ordered two additional males and one has a tail and the other doesn't??? so that should mean that some males will feather in normal and some will feather in late....but do some girls feather in late as well??? I'm hooping for a kind roo, so the more options the better I think...I really hope my EE roo will be nice, of course I only have one EE roo.... as he is the one I wanted the most...and I almost wish I had ordered 6-7 of them just to get better odds of getting a nice one!

but so far he is an ANGLE! I just hope it continues

hi ..i have 5 chicks that look like ChiChi.. 3 are twins to her And 1 is a little more reddish and one is a little more blueish... can you guys tell me what ChiChi's color is called...I am so proud of my EE girls.
Meet my girls! This was the day they came home 3-23-12.

Well, I can't figure out how to put text beside each picture...sorry. But pic #2 is Chichi, 4 weeks. She was the lightest colored chick in the first picture. Pic #3 is Chichi at 10 weeks. Pic #4 is Jolly Roger, #5 doesn't have a name but isn't she stunning?

And the last is Mean Bird. She's not really mean, I can't recall how she got stuck with that haha!

I don't think there is really a color classification for chickens like Chichi. I would call it red and blue smut lol...
There are so many possible color outcomes for the EE, they can't all be classified because a lot of them don't adhere to color classifications for other breeds like true Ameraucanas.

Is this young roo an EE or Ameraucana?
I am not sure of his age. I just got him yesterday from a local, older gentleman with many breeds. He says Ameraucana and I am not quite sure if he makes the standard. I just want to say I adore this bird.

He is super, super sweet. He is a very chatty conversationalist, does notmind being petted and fell asleep in my lap yesterday. After having a really bad experience with a mean rooster - I love this guy! Of course I am praying he stays that way.

He barely has spur nubs, so his hormones may not have hit him yet. Also color? He looks liek a reverse blue wheaten. So excited I have a blue wheaten hen for him and a whole load of pullets. I can't wait until I start having rainbow chicks next year!!
