The EE braggers thread!!!

Awesome blue!! I hope one of my girls lays one like that!! I have looked all through this forum at EE pics and what color they lay, and I have reason to believe that two of mine will be olive eggers, one will be green, and the other two are unknown. We will see in another 6 weeks or so....

I love the light blue color. I have one or two that lay that color as well as some that lay the olive and blue-greens.
What I dont have is any pink layers...

Does anyone know if EEs are the pink egg layers or is that another type of chicken, and if another type, what type?

I recently sold all my older girls, or so I thought. about a week after they left I caught one of the Wyandotte girls in the coop all puffed up. I waited 30mins for her to go back to her hiding spot and found out she was sitting on about 15 eggs! She was well hidden under the overgrown hops behind the coop. She is sitting on some brown eggs but also a few from my old Olive Eggers. The eggs felt close when I checked them after finding her so I checked on her again today and found 3 ADORABLE chicks under her, two of which are OE mixes and ridiculously cute!

They're mostly buff-colored with all kinds of stripes and dots. I will post pictures of them tomorrow since they should all be ready to come out then... Just had to share the news!! =D

love everyone on this site, really pumps you up even more about loving your birds! Can't wait to see the pic!

I am sitting out with the chickens right now for my lunch break and have let them all out for some free range time (too many predators for unsupervised time). The little girls, Pearl and Opal are out with the big girls. The big chicks all came over and started to posture to my little EE girls and I was preparing to chase them off. Then Pearl comes up, hackles raised, and chest bumps my big RIR cockerel. He had this shocked look on his face and then led the big girls off the other direction. It was so funny because Pearl is just the tiniest little chick, smaller and a bit more petite than Opal, who is the same age. The big girls and Henry are 14-16 weeks old and Pearl and Opal are the babies at 5 and 1/2 weeks. Just wanted to share:lol:
