The EE braggers thread!!!

What I meant was that the ones I hatched would not be Ameraucanas. The ones from the Breeder would be Ameraucanas. Yes it is from the Breeders club. I think the APA uses that as a standard when you show them. It might work if I told the person i sold them to the name of the Breeder I got them from. They would then have to lie and say the birds came from the recognized breeder and not me.

This is one of the reasons I have EEs and not Ameraucanas. I may some day get some Anconas--those do not have the weird breeder problem. Like others have said, Ameraucanas are the only ones to have that problem. Wyandottes are Wyandottes regardless of color. Some are hatchery quality and some are show quality.

Bye,

It is even worse than identifiable colors. If I buy Ameraucanas from a recognized breeder and I breed them, then mine are EEs because I am not a recognized breeder.

Look up the requirements-- one of them is that the chicks come from a recognized breeder. Your chickens are beautiful so call them what you want.

Just to be safe you should sell them as EEs.

Ron

I think you just made that up.

I read a list of requirements last year. I do not see it on the Breeders Club site now, so either I read it wrong or it was from a post on the Ameraucana site.

all this discusion about breeding leads me to ask, how long before dna profiling? or is it happening? would end all the arguing, and probably surprise a lot of breeders as to what they really have. it has made a huge difference in the coonhound world.

One thing that I love about the EE's is that there is such a following for them. If I post pics of any of my other HQ birds, they would get torn apart for being HQ. the EE's we get to enjoy for being the lovely birds that they are because there is not a standard. Just my two cents. They also seem to be the friendliest birds we have...

That's one of the reasons I think I'll keep one of my accidental EE roos to breed with my one EE girl (although I'm a bit torn between EE and Barred Rock babies - don't have separate pens).

I picked apples yesterday and then stupidly left the basket on the porch... as usual, it took the chickens no time to find something they weren't supposed to get into. They enjoyed them but I will be back on the ladder today.

I've got one more EE girl(red/blue) but she's rarely seen when the camera comes out, lol.
