DeannaOR, Her daddy is my Buff Laced Wyandotte so she got it from him, the only one of LOTS of chicks this year to get the lacing.
Cluckcluckluke, I have a Terrible memory so I have to use the legbands so I can keep track of who is from what hatch(ages).
Thank you all for the compliments!
that is epic cute
I wanted to share pictures of my EEs. I have fallen in love with my mutt chickens and hope to hatch more EEs out of my barnyard mix hens.Beautiful birds everyone has!
My pride and joy "Mojito" aka "Mo" 6mo old given to me by a fellow BYC memberHe is out of a blue Ameraucana Roo.
Here is a few chicks that hatched out of same Blue Ameraucana roo that Mo is from but different random pure bred hens. Blue chick and possibly black chick may be pure Ameraucana but no one knows for sure.
They are 2-3 weeks old in these pics.
Love the little white bum!

I'll continue to watch them grow. No worries if he is. I'd like to have a backup roo. Plus he has recessive white - and I need that in my white EE projectWhen my EE were chickie doos, my only slow feathering was a male, Oreo.
I think of your hobbled one as male, just b/c of how much he looks like my Oreo did at his age, but that is just a prejudice not a real guess.
I thought we didn't have Buff Laced Wyandottes here in the US?
Love his eyebrows!!!! Yea, putting even an old washcloth or rag in the incubator will help prevent splayed leg.I'm going to see if fast feathering is indeed indicative of gender in EE's. Half are feathering in really fast, half really slow. My last EEs did it like this (only slow feathering one was male). If so, my favourite little one is a male (Hobbles).

He is really friendly too - so chances are.. He will be my backup rooster then.
His legs are all cured. Completely normal. I really need to get cheesecloth for my incubator. This is my second time with splayed leg with two different breeds.![]()
